Oh yeh, it would be better if it rained. A lot. But not enough to flood the Mississippi, of course.

Scientists say they have figured out how an experimental drug called ketamine is able to relieve major depression in hours instead of weeks.

Researchers from Yale and the National Institute of Mental Health say ketamine seems to cause a burst of new connections to form between nerve cells in parts of the brain involved in emotion and mood.

The discovery, described in Science, should speed development of the first truly new depression drugs since the 1970s, the researchers say.

if you took horse tranquilizers then you took ketamine. i had a friend who did it a bunch, but i've never done it myself. frankly, it scares the shit out of me. reading about k-holes made me never want to do it.

we sometimes used ketamine at my lab in school. I was sometimes tempted to try it, but the fact that we mixed it up ourselves and kept it in a bottle in the fridge wrapped in tinfoil made me nervous that it would go bad and I would die.

Isn't ketamine what made House able to walk for like half a season?

All of this research is intended to produce drugs that will work like ketamine, but without the hallucinations.
