Kings Of The South 5/29 (Halladay PERFECT GAME)

Postby smitty » Sun May 30, 2010 00:49:33

So I tell mickbayne before the game starts that I always DVR the game just in case. So now I have the game recorded. Wooohooo I guess.

Anyways, what a great night.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Even though he can't speak right now I am anxious to go talk to him about the game tomorrow morning.

Barker, that's fucking awful. Yeesh.

Sorry to hear that, Bake. Hope you have a good talk tomorrow.

Honestly, I just watched the last out on CSN and I thought T-Mac's call wasn't bad.

A great night, indeed. I am honored to have been able to share it with you and Mrs. Smitty.

I told jerz last night that I couldn't wait to read Bill Lyon's column, hoping he'd write. And he did, thankfully. I love how they have him on call whenever something important is going down. Wonder when they called him/he called them last night? Anyway, here he is.

He was, by turns, a painter, brushing the outer, unreachable edges of the plate, and a surgeon, carving the hitters with cool dispatch.

He made the ball dive, and he made it rise.

He pitched up and in, and he pitched down and away.

And everything he threw moved in a different direction, save one - straight.

The ball was his with which to do whatever he pleased. He had caught the genie of baseball in a generous mood.

In that case, said Roy Halladay, I think I'd like to be perfect. You know, for a night.

Of course, there are also the requisite Cliff Lee comments. I can only shake my head.

Also in the aftermath news roundup, Tom Verducci has this kind of out-of-the-blue story about Halladay picking up tips from David Wells. Well, okay.

Holy crap.... I think that was easily the best game I have ever seen, and I was there. Pics when I get back home on Wednesday.

Waiting for Roy in the lobby right now so he can sign my stub.

Your friend has a friend like you, he's already done pretty well, & may do more.

I am not a clinician, but brains are strange & wondrous organs, jolted into 'workarounds' in mysterious ways. So I, too, feel your prescription for your friend has promise.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)
