That's awesome.

Congrats on being there.

"Was that his first?" Castro asked a reporter as he cracked a celebratory beer.

I was at the Matt Stairs game (actually, both of them including 4/12/09) and you'll get goosebumps just thinking about the moment. The Dodgers played Journey's song "Don't Stop Believin" in the middle of the 8th and I get goosebumps everytime I hear that song now.

Bunning's perfect game was on father's Day , and Roy's was on the anniversary of the Ascension of Baha'u'llah, the founder of the Baha'i faith. How weird is that?

i was driving home from scranton and trying to listen on the mlb app. at&t coverage is awful in the nether regions of 476. when that would go out, i would scan through as many AM channels as i could. all the while i was dealing with missing exits, pouring rain, and no fewer than two drivers who refused to put their lights on despite the darkness and rain. was able to barely hear the helms strikeout, and because of franzke's excitement (who was the morass who said he shows no emotion?) i thought it was all over. realized it wasn't, and got a decent signal just as the game was ending.

because jim jackson was otherwise occupied, franzke had to do the postgame show himself, and was audibly disappointed that they didn't get to have a star-of-the-game show, despite the game ending so early. poor l'il feller.

The Phillies currently have the last unassisted triple play and perfect game in MLB history. We need Popo to hit 4 HRs in a game, Chase to complete a natural cycle, and Wertz to hit a 2-out ultimate grandslam quickly. Then, we win the WS in November...

You forgot winning the NL pennant 3 times in a row, but I'll assume it was implied in the bolded section.

I am in philadelphia this weekend for a tragic reason: a good friend suffered a debilitating stroke from which he may never recover. This morning I told him about the end of the shutout streak. Prior to the end of visiting hours, the nurses assured me they would turn the TV on in his room so he could watch the Phillies. Even though he can't speak right now I am anxious to go talk to him about the game tomorrow morning.

We lost him this afternoon.
