Bravo for your environmentally-sensitive recycling of headlines. Surely you could have thought of something a bit more original.

its hard to accurately scout a guy like burnett. hes totally capable of going out there 30 some times a year and pitching like this. but hes a head case. he will make pefect pitch after perfect pitch one start, then the next he'll walk 4 and have 3 wild pitches.

Also hard to scout him getting numerous strike 3 calls over the opposite side batter's box

tex hr = garden-variety homer, not cheap, not special

Agreed. Tex's homer was a legit, real HR but it was just a regular one, not a bomb.

Matsui's was a joke -- I still can't believe it was anywhere near a HR, thought it was a lazy fly.

Makes complete sense.

Disagree - sorry, Charlie.

Back when the Mets lined into a triple play, Charlie discussed how he didn't like to send the runners in that situation or with one out, largely for fear of a line out double play.

He may be right, he may be wrong, but at least he's consistent.

I think he was right. Just because Utley grounded into a double play (which called accurately, he didn't) doesn't make it the wrong decision.

the off day is the worst part - i wish they would have made a habit of losing game 1 and winning game 2. but it'll all be better by this time Monday night when we burn this mother down.

Reading headlines.

Ugh, working in media can suck. I can understand the paper writing a homer story, but to the extent the NY media takes it drives me up a wall.

"Yankees wake up the slumbering lumber"? That implies a MUCH more offensive game than we saw tonight. Among other complaints. Time to have a beer and play xbox to relax.

I found it plenty offensive.

I don't know, but if he starts bobbing and weaving it's going to cause a seizure.

Really happy to hear this. I don't want Pedro to go out this way. At the very least, I want to see him get redemption in this series (assuming he isn't part of a parade).

I just watched Anthony Gargano and Joe Staszak reporting from Yankee Stadium on Fox29.

I wish I hadn't.

Joe essentially upset that the Phillies weren't breaking crap up in the clubhouse after the loss.

Yeah, the Phillies mentality is "Eh. We're going to win the next game so why get upset tonight?"

I guess he didn't hear Howards F-BOMB and reaction after the lame called 3rd strike on him in the 9th. To be honest, I think the Phils looked plenty pissed, especially Rollins, late in the game.
