4.8.09 GT: Big Joe and the Bravos (Plus rings!)

Postby MattS » Wed Apr 08, 2009 20:26:06

got back from the game just a bit ago. very awesome and very exciting. the funniest thing was that the whole 7th inning, i thought there were two outs. i almost never need to check things like runners and outs or anything, and not even the count all that much, so i didn't look at the scoreboard really the whole time. so the whole time i'm sitting there thinking that there's two outs. and when howard got hit by the pitch, i'm thinking to myself werth is gonna end the inning. and then i'm like, okay i'm gonna hate ibanez if he ends the inning. i honestly didn't realize til howard grounded out. it was totally out of character for me. i never even get excited about flyballs that stay in the park, and here i was, shouting "dammit" when they have taken the lead and being mad at coste for not scoring from first on what i thought was a two-out single down the line. very weird of me.

anyway, why the hell didn't chipper play or pinch hit? is he very hurt? what's wrong with him?

Image Reading the rants of Mets idiot Machinegunfunk makes me appreciate everyone here so much more.

I wish I could wipe that URL from my machine. It is like watching a car crash in slow motion. I am going to be going back every day now to see what he has to say. I may even sign up to troll him.

the boos were deafening.

interestingly, some pretty heavy boos for steve smith when they called his name, and he wasn't even there in person.

during the pregame they said something about aggravating his oblique injury (the one he had during the wbc), but at some point during the game they talked about a sore thumb.

i can never figure out how to put an image in, but check out the fangraph for this. when victorino grounded out for out #1 in the 7th, we had a 0.7% chance of winning.

Looks like BSG's serotonin levels
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I really love this team, they've got their holes and problems, but that win today was just great. I love madson -> lidge closing games, I love the infield I love vic in cf the range and the canon. The lineup is the tits, rollins, utley, and Howard make everyone else better. And the rotation will come around, I know this. God I love this team, even though the record is 1-2 I'm excited for some baseball.
man I drew all these penises for nothing - housh

They wouldn't put us on Phanavision because of the score. So we got on tv instead and even got a comment out of Wheels!
"I tell all kids not to use that word. If they're 29 and they win the World Series, I think they can say that.
But I definitely would say to all the kids out there, 'Kids, it's a bad word. Don't say it. And I'm dead serious.' "
