RHP Phillippe Aumont is in the Halladay deal -- but not coming to the Jays. He's going to the Phillies

There's no doubt Seattle is getting Cliff for a bag of crap. We're getting bent over because we can't afford Halladay.

So we're getting an honorary Canuck and a real one. Even worse the real one is a Frenchy. What is going on here? Are all of the writers eating paint chips?

If we're willing to trade Drabek, I'm pretty sure we could do the deal just with the Jays (and keep Lee). The problem is you still need to off-load some salary unless you get cash from Jays and Halladay defers some 2010 salary,

Dear five owners,

It's a one year bump in payroll. Lee walks after next year. We have the chance for something special. Don't make this about a few million dollars. You're still making a profit, and your investment is growing by leaps and bounds. A third straight World Series appearance would bring even more prestige and value to the organization that you own.

Thanks for your consideration,

jerseyhoya

Dear jerseyhoya,

Thank you for your note. You are correct, our team make it to the World Series two years in a row and we would like to do this, as you suggest, a third time. Do you know anything about budgets? They exist to avoid concepts like "it's only a couple of million more". We didn't need to exceed $140 million over the last two years and we aren't going to do it this year, either. Roy Halladay. R.O.Y. H.A.L.L.A.D.A.Y.

When was the last time you saw the words "Blockbuster Deal" and "Phillies" in the same headline?

Keep buying our stuff, keep coming to games (buy lots of beer and food), and go straight to hell,

We're getting the French-Canadian now?

How does he compare to Drabek in terms of ceiling and ETA?

Also, I dont like Aumont.

Has a low 3/4 delivery, good fastball, but his secondary stuff is non-existant.

Mariners moved him to the bullpen last year, which is probably where he'll end up, but why move him there now?

He throws hard. Sits 93-95, can hit 97. But I think hes 2 tiers under Drabek.

If we trade Drabek, keep Lee, get Aumont and Halladay then the Rube statue goes up outside CBP in April.

Did you ask if Aumont was in the Halladay deal? If so, he might be getting you on a technicality, if the Lee deal is considered separate.

In any event, I am 100x less excited about this than I was five hours ago.
