Well its no fun to be mocked. There are MANY Phila sports fans worthy of abuse, but that profile with the beard didn't work for me as ringing true to anyone I've ever known. But what fan of a team is going to like the derision of themselves? Only fun if its the other guy...

Phillie and Eagle fans are not the same either. Eagle fans are mean and hard core. F u up with a b'bal bat. Phillie phans are edgier than some, but the nature of the sport mellows things out a bit. And right now, we're on top of the world and many a cheesesteak and hoagie will be downed in excitement... haters....

In 2001, Teixeira re-entered the draft and was selected by the Texas Rangers with the fifth overall pick. The Philadelphia Phillies were considering drafting him with the fourth pick until Teixeira's agent, Scott Boras, advised the Phillies against it. The Phillies looked to avoid another J.D. Drew-type situation (Drew held out and re-entered the draft under Boras' advice) and passed on Teixeira [choosing Gavin Floyd instead].

Yeh, but if not for Floyd, we would have never had Garcia, so it all worked out ok.

I wonder if Teixeira could still play 3B.
