The Yankees have spent about $200,000,000 more than the Phillies on their payroll in the 2008 and 2009 seasons. It would amuse me more than a little if that amounted to infinitely fewer rings over that time span.

Pretty silly, if you ask me. I love New York. It's the only place big enough to absorb thousands of fans of the Yankees and Mets and not become a total cesspool.
