Mike Schmidt was simply to intelligent and eloquent to be a wildly popular in this city.

He looks freaking awesome for 60. He could have been the best color analyst in baseball. National level material.

Who were you talking about here? Rendell? He's always done a great job of public speaking at any type of function I've seen him at or watched on TV. He was fantastic today.

During Monday's game in Washington, the Phillies taped a picture of Kalas in the visitors' dugout and kept it there until they left Thursday.

The Marlins, the next team to play at Nationals Stadium, have decided to keep the impromptu memorial on the wall until they finish their series, manager Fredi Gonzalez said yesterday.
