honestly, it was an awesome match to watch. each set was highly contested, but it was just roger falling short of rafa yet again in a major.

I believe if Nadal wins, he will be the 3rd man in history to win all 4 majors at least twice each.

After this tournament, Roger won't even be the highest ranking Swiss male in tennis.

Stan really tried to lose that match.

I stayed off the internet and watched my DVR for a little while and realized it wasn't going to catch it all...then started watching the ESPN feed on now which said it was on until 2PM so I was pretty positive it was going 5. Then Stan's serving at 40-0 for the match and I'm wondering how the hell he blows it and he's set up for an easy winner and I'm really wondering how he blows it and he makes it and it's over at noon. Good job trolling, ESPN.

He pretty much lost the 3rd set by playing tight. Some really bad errors. You could tell nerves got to him a little bit. Made up for it in the 4th, though. He played a flawless 1st set when Rafa was still 100%. Just completely dominated him.

An official with TAB Sportsbet, Australia's largest bookmaker, told ESPN.com that it will pay out $196,000 U.S. dollars for a $435 parlay bet one of its clients made for both Stanislas Wawrinka and Li Na to win the title.

TAB spokesman Matt Jenkins said that the bet was placed on Jan. 16 when the odds of both winning the Australian Open were 451/1.

Yeah, that's what I say whenever someone says Nadal was hurt. Stan was absolutely taking it to him in the first and second before Rafa tweaked his back. Those backhand winners, dear lord.

Typical Monfils. Should have won the opening game on Murray's serve if not for a terrible error and really bad shot selection. Then drops his first serve. All of this when he had all the momentum, and the crowd into it.

i wish this was atypical for him, but alas...he's been a roller-coaster head case his whole career. after he dropped the first 2 games, he was done. you could see it in his play. that first game was huge. had a fairly easy cross-court shot with murray at the net up 0-15 and tried to crank a forehand and hit the line(which rarely works out, even for the pros) and sailed it wide. Then at 15-30 he had murray way behind the baseline after a screaming forehand, but chose to stay back, murray was able to barely get the next ball back, then monflis hit a horrible drop shot with murray about 15 feet behind the baseline that he got to easily. that pretty much happened the last 5 games. bad decision making, mostly, but also some costly errors.

being his coach has to be one of the most frustrating jobs in all of sports. he's been the most athletic tennis player on tour for years now, but just can't stay healthy and stay in the game mentally. he has all of the tools to challenge the top players, but just never has put it all together.
