He’s trying to use the franchise to redevelop a chunk of the city. He needs it to be good in order to have the pull to get that done.

all of this coming together and seemingly backwards is so beautiful and honestly didn't expect it. really thought for morey to come into play was that if the sixers spun their wheels again AND if morey were still available.

i think sixers ownership is bad and consisting of horrible people, but this was a fantastic move.
