I didn't see anything on here about Jack McDowell's Tony Larussa accusation. Thought that might have garnered some interest. Is that just considered an attention-grab for McDowell? I like that Larussa seems to be involved in all the cheating scandals.

I'm jumping way ahead of myself, but I can't wait to hear the debates about Beltran or Altuve's hall case. I don't see how this shouldn't hurt them, if they were illegally enhancing their performance.

Beltran is fucked. He was a borderline candidate at best (though likely deserving), but his eligibility starts in four years, and it won't be enough time to forget.

Altuve is fine, if he can maintain an elite level for like 5 more years, and a few more years of compilation. This will be an early bump in the road for him.

Bregman should also see no ill effects from this, if he stays healthy and maintains the same track. It'll be like 2030 before it's debated.

Best case for the BBWAA is these guys both blow out their knees next season, and they don't have to debate it.

Only problem is, as someone in the replies points out, is a trashcan bang only indicated a certain type of pitch. Often they wouldn't bang if it was something else (I believe a fastball), so I'm not sure what this tells us other than they were banging trash cans a lot.

Trash can = off speed pitch

A good next step would be to compare the fastball contact rates, whiff rates, etc... an overall stats on non-bang pitches during these games to league and non-cheating team averages

You could obviously do the same with the off speed pitches
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?
