I like signing Didi.

I don't like it nearly as much if they're thinking of this as the last infield move.

Wonder will he play 3b or ss?

Hoping it's 3B with Kingery at SS and Segura at 2B.

Can't figure out the long-term plan otherwise.

It’s an upgrade over Cesar, mainly for the defense and clubhouse leadershipness, for not much more.

I like it a lot more if it means they’re going to spend more money on SP now.

Gelb's article from earlier today said there were 20 under pre-Didi, so I'm guessing they're mostly done.

If the benefits figures used by many sites are correct, they are roughly $7M under the cap. They’re done unless

I’d bet if they can get a dude they like, they’ll spend.

I hope him playing well is the worst that happens. I would think the thinking is to hope Bohm is ready for majors, and can play third, before the end of 2020. 2021 season then has an infield of Kingery (who continues his improvement) Segura (who has returned to form)and Bohm. That's a lot of wishful thinking, but if it doesn't work out just really leaves them no worse off than they are today.

Except next year's infield FA class is weak if IIRC. And you've lost a year of players prime or affordable years.

Klentak better pull a rabbit out of his hat. I don't like being the negative guy but I also don't think he gets a fifth offseason if this seasons ends like it's shaping up...

Trade Segura and prospects for Bryant, go down swinging acquiring a great player. Don't pretend your mediocre farm system is going to turn into some sustainable dynasty.
