marlins making some big moves.


The Miami Marlins will install a synthetic grass surface at Marlins Park as part of a multi-year corporate partnership with Shaw Sports Turf. With the enhancement to the playing surface, the club is also adjusting the outfield dimensions in center field and right-center field, moving the fences in towards home plate.

The distance in straight away center field will now be 400 feet, while the distance in right-center field will be 387 feet — a reduction of 12 feet. This marks the second time in the ballpark’s history that the outfield walls have been adjusted, having also happened prior to the 2016 season.

City of Anaheim and the Angels have reached a deal to keep the Angels in Anaheim purportedly through 2050. The City will sell the stadium and the parking areas to the team for 325 million.
