Holmgren is out as President of Ops, transitioning to a senior advisor role reporting to Dave Scott. Fletcher is now President/GM and reports directly to Scott

O'Connor says we "missed the point" on what Holmgren meant to the organization:

That’s why the constant complaining by those who hated Holmgren’s work as general manager, and railed against his continued presence, always missed the point. Holmgren wasn’t still around as some sort of reward for a job well done. Nor was he around to micromanage his predecessors. He stayed to try to ensure that “the Flyers remained the Flyers,” a job that took on a new degree of importance after Snider’s passing.

Well, they've been mediocre for a decade, so mission accomplished, I guess, the Flyers are still the Flyers.

What does it really mean to be "the Flyers" though? Did Homer do a good job of keeping "the Flyers" "the Flyers?"

It doesn't make any sense to me really. The Broad Street Bullies stuff is a thing of the past. There aren't guys racking up 300 PIMs anymore. The team has been boring and not playing with any sort of passion, and I don't think Holmgren did a good job of living up to whatever Snider wanted.
