It's amazing how quickly we became a cap-strapped team again. I liked how Hartman played and thought he was a perfect 4th liner for the future.

I agree. Could it be that Hartman was asking for the moon and the Flyers didn't think they could reach a deal? I just don't get the move.

With the Flyers, Hartman was looking at fourth line minutes, if that. Aside from knocking Dahlin on his can in his first game here against Buffalo, he didn't do much. The best way to get traded to another organization is to ask for more money than you're worth to the club. The Stars are his fourth teaming three seasons-Hawks, Predators, Flyers and now the Stars. That's quite a fall for a former first round DC.

Besides the Chicago/Czech Republic and New Jersey openers we knew about:

-- The Western Canada trip is done the first week of the season
-- Done with the Blackhawks in October
-- Done with Toronto by December 3
-- The annual Black Friday afternoon home game is 4pm vs Detroit (only visit by the Red Wings)
-- Colorado/Minnesota/Winnipeg road trip in early December
-- California/Vegas/Arizona during Disney on Ice week
-- A Florida/Tampa Bay trip in February, but they also visit those two cities a second time on separate visits
-- Blues visit on St. Patrick's Day, followed by a Dallas/Nashville road trip
-- first visit to MSG isn't until March 1
-- back-to-back home day games in mid-March (Wild/Oilers)
-- home finale is April 2 vs Nashville
-- season ends April 4 in Buffalo (only visit there this year)
-- besides Detroit, only one visit to Philly for Florida, Ottawa and Tampa Bay
-- besides Buffalo, only one visit to Boston, Montreal and Toronto

I mean Elliot and Talbot are the better two realistic backups. Hopefully as a full time backup he can make it through the season. I doubt it though.

I don't disagree but I feel like you could do much worse with a backup goalie.
