That’s what I thought initially, they want to showcase him for a trade, the timing is just unfortunate.

After the last two games, anyone with some sense realizes that this team is not going to make the POs. The next thing to do is take advantage of the TDL to improve the team. Then break in some more young players like NAK, Myers, Morin, etc. to get them adjusted for this fall. It's all about prepping for the '19-20 season.

Look on the bright side. Maybe this time Elliot will be yanked after nine shots and hart will play most of the game.

I'd be surprised if the league doesn't whisper in Fletcher's ear that this is a national, prime time showcase and the stars of the future need to be on the ice. And Elliott ends up with a mysterious pregame lower body injury and Hart plays. But not starting him is just stupid. Give him a taste of the really big time. He's earned it, FFS.

Carter Hart gave up 6 goals on 18 shots in his last two starts, is 20, and has played a lot. Perhaps he should have sat in the Montreal game, but we shouldn't be running him into the ground in a pointless game during a pointless season.

Conditions on tonight's game:

-- If the game needs to be stopped due to rain before the 3rd period, the game will be replayed from the start tomorrow. If it gets rained out tomorrow too, the game will be at WFC sometime later this season. No refunds unless the game gets rained out on Sunday.
-- If the game needs to be stopped due to rain in the 3rd period, the game will be official. If the game is tied, each team gets a point and they'll attempt a shootout for the extra point. If they can't do the shootout, it'll be held in Pittsburgh on 3/17 before the regular game.
-- If there are high winds in the 3rd period, there will be a stop at the 10:00 mark and teams will switch ends.
