I guess that makes sense. Rather just roll with Stolarz unless Hart wants his guy in there

It's good to have a vet by Hart if they are to get back in the playoff picture... you could probably get something for Elliott if he's healthy

Oilers and Flyers in a holding pattern on Cam Talbot trade. As mentioned on Insider Trading last night, Anthony Stolarz likely in the return if they close the deal. RFA goalie end of the year.

The Flyers have acquired goaltender Cam Talbot from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goaltender Anthony Stolarz.

The only thing this trade tells me is that Elliot and Neuvirth are done with the Flyers, which is a great thing.

Swapping a UFA that's friends with Hart for a RFA that gets a chance to have a fresh start somewhere else. Meh, can't get worked up over it. Whenever he returns, I'm assuming Elliott will be traded to a contender that needs a vet backup

Could they not have just traded Stolarz for a late pick then sign Talbot this offseason if they really liked him so much? Trying not to get angry about the deal, just not sure I understand the reasoning.

Seems like a good time to be messing with a goalie situation that’s been the best the franchise has had in like 15-20 years.

It should have been Giroux for Talbot.
