Says there was an obvious disconnect between Hakstol and the players
Says he's still evaluating what type of coach the players need based on the players skills
Confirms Gordon is head coach the rest of the season

He walked back the Gordon for the rest of the season but I believe. Made it sound like Gordon is coach until a permanent one is found could be soon could be the whole season.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.

Today the 1953-54 through 1964-65 champions ring was removed from the Stanley Cup to make room for a new batch. It will be pressed flat and displayed in the HOF. The Flyer titles are now on the top ring which will be next to go in 12 years. Clock is ticking for the new coach!

From what I was told, Fletcher wasn’t planning to fire Hakstol today, but Hak wanted a vote of confidence (based on reports) and Fletcher couldn’t give that to him.

Which is why Gordon wasn’t here for practice and the team didn’t have a press release prepared this morning

I actually believe this. What a world we live in where poorly sourced breaking news (Isaac story) leads to a coach being fired.

On one hand our beat writers leave a lot to the imagination, on the other hand what good will does the organization have to be believed here?

I understand that players, especially captains, are supposed to try to put the best possible spin on everything, but if G really believes that this team is "not that far off" he is fucking delusional. I still believe they have a ton of talent but they have generally played for shit this season.
