Its truly a great feeling. I've waited so long. Unlike some of you, I remember SB XV like it was yesterday. It hurt a lot. So many great moments, wins, hope...only to somehow not. I remember beating Dal on MNF when both teams were 3-0 and Dan Diershit said "Eagles are SB bound" - all that has happened, RC losing two seasons, Fog Bowl, Jerome Dying, Reggie leaving - Kieth and Kieth and eventually Clyde and Seth - Jurevicious on Blaine Bishop, Drew Brees and Kurt Warner and the high and low of Chip. Beating niners 40-8 as we reach 7-2 in Luries first year and then end up 7-9 as SF wins SB. I've been based in SF Bay Area through 4 of their 6 SBs. The Pats cheating in '04 and TO getting that horse collar. And the great moments BWest pr, Desean pr, Vick w 6 TDs on MNF - Shady in the snow... RC punting and passing and escaping - Don with a 14 second scramble - beating Giants 10-9 n MNF after 10 straight losses. TO. Hershel Walker getting 4 plays of 90 yards KR PR WR RB in one season... Willie T, Andy Harmon, Sheldon Brown, Arkansas Fred, Being in a sports bar with 20+ Eagle fans and 20+ Skinz fans as RC throws winning TD to Calvin Williams - Matt Ware blocks a fg on SD run back to win, the Aikman INT in end zone to Willis to Vincent - TD. Wilbert's 42 yd tD run against Dal to get us to SB. Bill Bergey, Bill Bradley - a couple weeks ago I watched on YouTube the 1970 Eagles Giants MNF game at turfed Franklin field w Norm Snead and Cyril Pinder - like it was yesterday. Jerry Sismore, Stan Walters, Mike Quick's 99 yard TD - pickle juice - it's all still there in my mind's eye - and I'd wake up in my 30' and 40's and now 50's and be like - how do we not have a Lombardi trophy???

I'm sitting here today. And something is different. 2008 meant a lot to me. '83 meant a lot to me especially against the Lakers. But this is something I've been needing to happen for so so so long. Year after year, decade after decade, watching Denver and Pitts, and Dal and NE - and GB then to see TB? Saints? Giants - a monkey is off my back.

I hope there are more to come - but man this feels incredible.

So now I'll revisit Feb. 2005. Was scheduled to hop on the corporate jet the monday morning following the super bowl. Went to the 'private jet' terminal (or whatever it's called) and there sits the eagles jet. i think it had just landed. Hop on my plane for a three-day trek to corp headquarters. My hotel that week was right along the other team's parade route in boston.

I don't remember much about the game. I know the Phillies parade a few months earlier was the highlight of my life at that point, and so I fully expected it to happen again. So I cried when I realized it wouldn't, and had trouble sleeping that night. The next day outside school, a street vendor handed me an Eagles Super Bowl XV banner - yesterday morning I dug it out of the basement and put in our front window.
