Our defense is built to beat the Patriots. We should have enough pressure on Brady with just our front four and I don't expect we'll wait to blitz until it's too late like Jacksonville. I'm optimistic.

2 plays before he forces the fumble, I told my wife we needed to change it up a little and throw him in the mix. The guy might not be a fighter jet but he get there and gets the job done. 5 sacks, 1 FF for the play of this life, and notched a TD. That is a nice rookie campaign.

Lets seriously look at the 2017 draft and be in awe.

Round 1, Pick 14 (No. 14 overall) Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee

Round 2, Pick 11 (No. 43) Sidney Jones, CB, Washington

Round 3, Pick 35 (No. 99) Rasul Douglas, CB, West Virginia

Round 4, Pick 12 (No. 118) Mack Hollins, WR, UN
C

Round 4, Pick 26 (No. 132) (From Vikings) Donnel Pumphrey, RB, San Diego State

Round 5, Pick 22 (No. 166) Shelton Gibson, WR, West Virginia

Round 5, Pick 41 (No. 184) Nate Gerry, S, Nebraska

Round 6, Pick 31 (No. 214) Elijah Qualls, DT, Washington

UDFA, Corey Clement, RB, Wisconsin

Having 4 rookies as significant contributors is impressive. I'll spare my normal hooting about Hollins and Clement's contributions limiting it to saying that they found thier NFL homes. Even Gerry and Qualls had some positive play this season. Jones should be a important part of the future, with Gibson as untapped potential, and Pumphrey as possible odd man out. What a draft class for the Birds.

2016 draft wasn't too bad either.

I listened to Lombardi’s podcast last night. It’s pretty much just 45 minutes of eating crow. He also talked at length about how the things the Eagles do on both sides of the ball are all of the things the Pats have trouble with and picked us to win it all.

We are a better team than the Patriots top to bottom. There's no doubt.

But Brady/Belichick are incredibly intimidating. Hit Brady early and hit him hard.

i think no matter how the game ebbs and flows, come the 4th quarter, Brady is gonna have a chance to lead them to a win. It's gonna be intense

Need defense to play like it's a home game, their road performances leave something to be desired.

Judging by the fans in the stands, it will be a home game

Right but that didn't help twice in LA. Hope they bring that home defense to Minnesota.

Things that concern me (cause we are Philly after all)
Brady
Belichick
Gronk
Limited SB experience
They played perfect yesterday. They have to play perfect again. That seems daunting.
Doug after a bye week for whatever reason, they seem to come out flat in first half then turn it on in the second half. (Detroit last year, Dallas this year, Atl in playoffs)

Things that I like about this
House money
Doug
Home crowd feel
Doug
OL
Doug
DL
Doug

Basically when we win it's because of Doug. 30-27 BIRTS

Defense has actually been pretty good on the road.

Regular season only: 4.2 YPA Home, 3.3 YPA Away on the ground. 5.7 ANY/A Home, 4.5 ANY/A Away. (13/8 TD/INT Home, 11/11 Away).

Before we get all excited about all the ways the team will put one on the Pats, just take a solid look at the constant in Pats land, they just win when they have to. I am excited about the match up, but end with the champagne.
