Rumors on the Kellys. ND fandom is floating that Chip is in South Bend and is going to get the Irish job. The flip side of the Kelly rumors is that ND's Brian Kelly was/is sniffing around the Rams job. ND wasn't happy about that and there is a sense that Brian Kelly should be let go now.

For both Notre Dame and chip the best route for him is either top tier in mountain west/American athletic or a second tier power 5 school. If expectations are high, he will disappoint. I think football has caught up to him at both the college and pro level and failed to adjust, he lost that momentum he had in college and the first year and a half with the Eagles, and he doesn't have that coaching tree or pedigree to pull good assistants from. While the niner job was bad going in, he pretty much made it worse. Would've been better to sit out the year and wait for a good opening for his sake, even though I think he would still not have near the success as he did at Oregon.
Best case scenario if he enjoys coaching and wants to improve his tarnished rep... Make his next job his final stop and one without immense pressure.

That was 4 years ago and he never really built that Oregon program, bellotti did, and was never a head coach before that. He would have to rekindle new relationships where a lot of the old ones have moved on. He inherited a great situation with long term assistants and support upstairs at the time from bellotti and tons of Nike money. It took spurrier quite a few years to get the cocks to peak when they did and he had way more experience, but I would consider his path as a career projection for chip.

Tyrod Taylor had groin surgery that may cause the Bills to pay him his 2017 salary of $27.5 million even if they cut him due to a clause in his contract.
Taylor's surgery could prevent the Bills from releasing him without a significant financial commitment.
Taylor has a clause in his contract that guarantees him his full $27.5 million base salary in 2017 if the Bills release him "due to a professional football injury suffered while performing his services under this Contract [and] Player is unable, in the sole judgment of Club's physicians, to perform his playing services for Club."
The Bills have until March 11 to pick up Taylor's option for the 2018-21 seasons that would guarantee him $30.75 million. If he remains on the roster March 12, Taylor will be guaranteed $27.5 million for the 2017 season.
