Adding on to what Youseff posted in the other thread, there's at least one more reason for Embiid to play this year: It would make drafting Simmons more feasible. Adding Simmons to Noel and Okafor gives you 3 bigs who can't/won't shoot from long range. Embiid's range changes the whole equation.

You wouldn't be sure going into the draft whether Embiid is healthy and effective. Granted it will be a small sample size, but some information is better than none.

yea. They would be left to wonder how Embiid/Saric/draftpick fit. Taking Embiid out of the equation softens things up a bit and allows for some clarity. I don't think anybody is getting moved until they all play together. Oak may seem the odd man out, but with a year under his belt, I would like to see how he approaches next season

WHEN JOEL Embiid made his way into the locker room before the 76ers faced the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, he casually walked to his stall and sat on the undersized stool. Just seconds later, Jerami Grant made his way from his locker spot to Embiid and, without saying a word, wrapped his arms around Embiid's massive shoulders and gave him a hug. It was like a kid seeing his father after a long time away. Embiid reached up and patted one of Grant's arms and the two shared a hearty laugh.
