Well, I think it's germane to evaluating the severity of the assault to know that it's someone much smaller than him who is a poor driver but has a driven parenting style and works extremely hard.

I notice the Phils drive pitch counts up in a lot of games. Just goes to show, doing that is pretty worthless. What matters is scoring runs. I remember when the Phils were at the top of the league in scoring runs and people would cry about them only facing 41 pitches in four innings. Then they'd score like 6 runs in the fifth.

I truly don't care about pitch counts that much. Driving the starter out does little good when the bullpen is loaded with killer one inning pitchers. And the only important thing on offense is scoring damn runs. Last night some team scored three runs on three total pitches. I'll take that every time.

Davis only has 72 RBI. Not nearly as good as Howard.

well, it doesn't help to run a deep count if you just end up striking out, but I'd rather my team saw a lot a pitches than not.

What matters is swinging at strikes

What matters is hitting strikes to places that no fielder is near.

they're bad at scoring runs because they don't have a lot of talent but at least they work pitchers

Need more RBI men. Franco looks like one.
