World Series 2008 Games 5.1 & 5.2 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

It is a sad, sad thing to watch a team you've rooted for day in and day out for a whole month go crashing down like that. Gotta feel for them.
Yes son. I'm the best mono-thingy guy there ever was.

Fuck them. Now they can all jump off the bandwagon.

$#@! them. Now they can all jump off the bandwagon.

not every team is fortunate enough to have all their fans in one place to watch a road game like that

I spent the last week down in Philly without the internet, so I didn't get a chance to tell my game 5.1 story. I was at a party in South Philly for the game and as soon as the game went to rain delay, my friend and I ran across Broad Street and sneaked into CBP. The talk was that the game was going to be played, so I was convinced that I was going to see the last out of the WS.

Figuring we shouldn't even be in the stadium, we went up to the suites and knocked on doors until two guys let us in their company suite and told us to eat and drink whatever we wanted. After the game was suspended, we walked down past visitor services to see how many people had lost their tickets during the game. We spent the next 2 hours in the rain while avoiding security going foul pole to foul pole looking for tickets. No such luck, for us at least. Afterwards we went to Benny the Bums for a beer only to meet a guy who a minute before had been given 2 tickets by a gentleman who had to leave town the next day and could not attend the continuation of the game. So that's as close as I got to seeing the final outs of game 5. I ended up spending Wednesday night at Chickies, which was a pretty amazing time in and of itself.

After partying all night Wednesday into Thursday and the mayhem of Friday, I'm just now starting to come down from cloud 9.

i'm not as shocked that you managed to get into CBP as I am that you managed to get on the suite level. premium services is pretty hardcore about checking tickets.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

at the end of the fox sports giants - cowboys game, fox did their little montage ... "fox sports, home of the daytona 500, bcs championship, and world series..." and they showed lidge with the final K. That clip will be at the end of every sports broadcast fox does until, well whenever we dont win the world series

Cooperstown - I'm serious. This is a good example of how baseball fandom and access to baseball information has evolved. Very 21st Centuryish.

Too bad MLB baseball is ambivalent about stuff like this.

Yeah, I'd expect Vox to get a C&D letter instructing he and his patrons to stop posting the proprietary "live" game commentary without the express written consent of blah blah blah.

If MLB wanted to be innovative and increase fandom, they'd make MLB TV and Audio content free to everyone and figure out a way to replace the revenue. CampHoldout, get on this will you

Also -- is the MLB TV stuff archived for paying customers? Like, can you go back and watch a Phils game/highlights from July if you want?
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

it was as of before this year, b/c back in march in preparation for the upcoming season, i sat down in front of the computer with my then-6 month old and relived the august four game sweep of the mets

as to whether anything has changed with that, i dunno

I just needed to see this thread. I'd never read the final moment before - I was too busy that night pacing around my living room and trying to contain myself. Before 2009 gets under way and it all fades finally to black, here's one more toast to those WFC Phillies!!!!
