Was actually looking at that exact fan forum last night, and was very unimpressed with their fans baseball knowledge, but even more so, their vocabulary. F this, F that, almost every other word. As well as derrogotory bigotries all over the place. Its like the LA WIP for fan forums.

The only place I can think that you can fall from 400 level seats to the concorse below is in Right field between the outfield sections and the sections in foul territory. Is this where it occurred? Not that it matters, but out of morbid curiousity.

sect 419 behind home

he fell just over the railing where the edge of 419 over hung the steps to the concourse, and it's literally a 3 feet gap at most and a freak accident to say the least

Thanks for the info, I think I can picture it now, such a morbid interest, but I couldnt picture it mentally. Thanks.

LA probably gets American Idol castoffs and we get people from Willow Grove that think they can sing

not sure if it made it on to the broadcast, but someone had a pretty cool sign at the park tonight. it looked basically like this:

champs
08
sdɯɐɥɔ

and the guy had it spinning around. i never thought of it that way until i saw that sign...
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

The woman singing yesterday was flat most of the song. I almost stuck a pair of chopsticks in my ears. I have no idea what the second woman was doing today.... she didn't seem to know how she wanted to sing it, so she just switched back and forth between styles.

All the stars are in LA, so maybe they'll get Jack Nicholson or something.

I might go to hell for even thinking this - but is it too much to ask for Adam Eaton to die next? Bad things happen in threes they say, right? With a hypothetically dead Eaton - do we owe him the $8 million? Could make that push for CC.
I know too much to wish for. I'll settle for dead Eaton.

Speaking of LA, I got to hear some radio highlights while grabbing dinner after the game. Larry Andersen might be my favorite homer of all time. Most of the highlights, he would either just be saying "YES" or laughing.

Speaking of which, is there anywhere online where I could get the radio feed of the game or at least the highlights?

I had to work late, so I intentionally avoided all mention of the game before getting home to watch on the DVR. Even though I recorded half an hour extra, the recording ended shortly after Victorino's catch. Man, that was a slow game in stark contrast to game 1. GREAT WIN THOUGH!!!

So, if I saw the stat right on ESPN, Brett Myers is the first pitcher to have 3 hits and 3 RBI in a postseason game since 1919. In fact, one of only three and the one from 1919 wasn't even legit as it was one of the games the White Sox fixed. So, Dutch Ruether of the 1919 Reds and Jack Coombs of the 1910 Philadelphia A's.

Saw the guy on the stretcher with a neck brace as it sped out of the park to a waiting ambulance. First we saw the cart zip up the ramps and then back down only minutes later. It seemed like they responded pretty quickly.

I liked this snippet about Myers from a CNN article.

"Believe it or not, Myers, who once went 2-for-63 in a season, was not only the winning pitcher but also the best hitter. Understandably though, he looked somewhat unfamiliar on the basepaths, at one point going from first to third by taking second base at a 90-dgree angle, like a player in a video game."

That was a cool game to attend. I can't believe how loud it was, and it was twice as loud for the last strike to No-Mah.

Yet when asked whether he could explain his recent struggles here, Billingsley mumbled an answer about a quality start, then seemed to reference his outing in Chicago before saying, "Never mind."

correction

"No, I was just screaming 'agh, rah, agh, rah.' I was just so happy I hit it," Ramirez said.

Heyman
The Phillies used two arguably cheap dingers to win the opener of the NLCS, which is one of their very favorite formulas at Citizens Bank Park.

TJ Simers' latest piece garbage

There is one section of the wall here designed to kill off the Dodgers' chances for success, and both Blake and Ramirez hit it. It goes deeper than the rest of the park, Ramirez hitting it in Game 1 and getting only a double. Blake's shot didn't go as far as Ramirez's poke, but a leaping Shane Victorino kept Blake from at least a double.

"I'm tired of hearing this stadium is a bandbox," Blake said.

great quote by Blake

then this, from the print version of The Sporting News (which seems bent on copying ESPN the mag); some dope named Ryan Fagan

Make a decision about free agent Pat Burrell. He has power but has hit higher than .260 and driven in more than 100 runs just twice in his nine-year career. Jayson Werth can do that at a fraction of the cost.

then who plays left?

Darrin Erstad's strikeout to end Zambrano's no-hitter takes the cake for me.
