Apparently the Phillies didn't give up a whole lot up for Joe. Makes me feel better about the trade then. Thanks TBS!!

I'm in a good mood, and so can't find any bile to heap on the shoulders of john smoltz.

Yeah, by the time I got back in I heard about the 5th. wizlette has said that it would be cool if the phillies won, which is a major advance on about 2 weeks ago. But asking her to check the score twice is pushing it.

I heard that and I think he's right. Blanton isn't nearly as good as Harden and CC for example but prospects like LaPorta are much more valuable than Cardenas and Outman. I liked both the guys the Phils gave up but neither are close to sure things. Blanton is an established starting pitcher and those guys cost a fair amount at the deadline.
