Even if I had a vague clue of what Hinkie's trying to do (which I don't), all the other rumored machinations of the top 8 drafting teams makes it impossible for me to get any sense of what might really happen. It seems either all the proposed deals will go nowhere (at least for the top 4) and teams will draft where they are OR someone will panic and blink and one or two teams will be big winners via trade. For entertainment value I hope it's the latter and, of course, I see no reason why Hinkie can't come out on the top of the heap! :-D

because they can get a little something in return for guaranteeing milwaukee gets the guy they covet

EDIT: more specifically, the bucks cannot draft exum at #2 and be guaranteed that parker is there at #4 for orlando to draft to precipitate a trade. thus, orlando moves up to #1, drafts parker, then moves him to the bucks for exum. both teams get the guys they want, both of which MAY not be available at #2 (Parker) or #4 (Exum). A lot of this has to be due to Hinkie going rogue and these GMs having no idea what the heck the Sixers are going to do.

My latest (probably impossible) scenario:

Assumptions: Cavs want Embiid, but don't want to take him at 1 if they think they can get him at 3, plus get another piece. Magic want a PG. Bucks want Parker.

Cavs blink and trade 1 to Sixers for 3 plus Thad (who they're rumored to have wanted at the deadline). Sixers trade MCW and 10 to Magic for 4 and 12.

Draft goes:

1. Sixers take Wiggins (rumored top choice).
2. Bucks take Parker (rumored top choice).
3. Cavs take Embiid (rumored top choice, plus they get Thad, who they're rumored to have wanted).
4. Sixers take Exum.

And of course, Magic get their PG, plus move up from 10 to 12.

Who loses?

PS: At 12 the Sixers take Saric.
