props. He's got a hell of a team around him and he stayed outta their way, playing mistake free when it mattered. Fifteen points needs to be improved upon.

Doug on the other hand.. to be feared

Don't overlook nicky's heads-up dive and recovery at the goal line. He doesn't do that and we're both hung over AND miserable instead of just hung over.

Wulf with a bunch of quotes on the 4th down stop

Jenkins: “I mean, it’s a two-back formation. They’re not gonna run the ball. So it’s probably some kind of move-the-pocket, and so the options that they have is small. And so once they lined up in the formation, we probably had one or two plays in our minds. Once we saw it, we all identified it.”

Rodney McLeod: “The ball’s on the right hash, it’s 4th down and 2, or goal, whatever. And I’m like, this is one of their favorite concepts. Tight end motions across, I called it out immediately and tried to get Nigel to go pull it up and tell the guys on the outside.”

Cox: “It was loud. It was really loud. Probably one of the loudest I’ve heard it here in a while.”

Jalen Mills: “The crowd is there to distract the offense.”

Allen: “You’re trying to hear your boys over the roar of the crowd. Honestly, I couldn’t even tell you (who was yelling). It was one of our DBs yelling sprintout, and it was a sprintout.”

Mills: “Knew when 11 [Jones] broke the huddle, they were going to him. It’s fourth down, just knowing they’re going to give him the ball. I kind of ID’d the formation. Both my safeties called out the play, which helped as well.”

McLeod: “So Fridays (Thursday for a Saturday game) is our red-zone day. That was something that we looked at repeatedly. And then [Friday], during walkthrough, we got it again. You just wanna program your mind so that you see plays constantly over and over again, and when you get those formations, you gotta ID ‘em. And that’s the difference that makes great players who they are and makes great teams — being able to apply the film study and put it onto the field.”

Matt Ryan: “That's a play we practice all the time. Certainly in those situations you want to go to your best players.”

Jenkins: “For red-zone (meetings), we do DBs and linebackers.”

Dannell Ellerbe: “I think after the motion, we knew.”

Mychal Kendricks: “Once your eyes pick up the slightest movement, and once the quarterback starts rolling, we already know what time it is.”

Jenkins: “Obviously, you can identify it all you want, you still gotta stop it.”

Darby: “I was out on the running back [Derrick Coleman]. I was just, I wasn’t even worried about him.”

Jenkins: “They’re trying to get Julio the ball. [Ryan's] second option is [Mohamed] Sanu on the back end, and I think he had a trickle-down play somewhere in there.”

McLeod: “On this play, there’s nothing I really can do. I’m just going to hold my ground, protect the inside in case someone comes from the backside or if Sanu gets loose. That’s my job on that play, man, And we talked about it all week. Just do your job, don’t do anything spectacular, don’t be Superman, just do what you’re asked to do. And if you do that, we'll be fine. And every player on this team did that today.”

Ellerbe: “It was a sprintout, so basically I was just filling where needed in the defense.”

Kendricks: “The back cut our end [Vinny Curry], 'cuz they wanna seal that backside, make sure that if Ryan needs more time, that the end can’t fuckin’ hurry the throw up, hurry the toss up.”

Mills: “I think it was kind of like a double move. (Jones) kind of acted like he was running a fade on me, tried to sit it down at the last minute. We were touching at the top of the route.”

Julio Jones: “I ended up on the ground. In that situation, it is very difficult for an official to call that play, in that situation.”

Kendricks: “So (Tevin Coleman) cut the end, end fell, end got up and started running toward the QB, but I mean all that time the whole timing was messed up. The running back fell down and got back and usually on a sprintout, I would run with the QB just to cover the backside in case anything leaked through. But I stayed on the back and the back got up, thinking he was free, and started to release again. So it was like a cut, he fell down, got up and then released, and then Ryan looked his way, and he seen I was on him, and then he fuckin’ just went back to Julio to toss it up. I didn’t think that he would even look back there, but when he did, I low-key held. I held like a motherfucker.”

Hoffman:
“I went and bought an underdog mask on Amazon and [they] shipped it pretty fast up here,” Johnson said.

(The mask was kept warm because Jason Peters had it tucked safely inside of his coat on the sideline, in case you were wondering. Even if you weren’t, the idea of Johnson talking the team’s most respected player into carrying around a mask usually reserved for ages 13 and under is pretty funny.)

My favorite quote. Very strange for Atlanta to go 21 personnel in a 100% pass situation and put a non-entity as a receiver (fullback) on the field.
