Just bought a bunch for us. My son is 10 and isn’t really into sports, but I’ve been putting the Eagles games on this year and having him check it out. I’ve let him stay up late the last two weeks as long as he watches the games, and he saw the ESPN piece last night on Lukas and he was really upset by it. He started in school in the same school system as Lukas and they could have been classmates. Seeing this really hit home for him and he wants to help and I want to help him feel like he can.

In my life, I have thought about that way more than I should have.

I've thought about this too, and rc would have been in the hall of fame. Imagine if bill Walsh were his coach.

RC is my boyhood idol, but to be honest with you all... I don't think he would've gotten off the bench.

He was an OC headache and a DC worst nightmare. He could only make a single read, left the pocket too soon, took too many sacks and wanted to and needed to make plays on his own. A very special talent where he was at his best with all of his faults extending the field both horizontally and vertically 50 yards plus.

They gave him weapons in Minny and let rc be rc. Never rooted for and was so proud of an opposing NFL player in my life.

No great offensive genius would ever let Randall be Randall

Not sure AZ if you are making my point a little. RC being RC was what he was in Philly, but if he had a coach who took his natural ability and built around it as an Eagle, then he could have been next level. There is a lot of crazy in Cunningham's career story including his year in retirement (1996), then his comeback to eventually lead the Vikings to a 15-1 record in 1998, career year. Brian Billick was the OC for the Vikings, and eventually brought him to Baltimore too. Ray Sherman was the QB coach there, but honestly I remember Sherman most as the pawn in Rooney Rule game. It will be forever more 'what-if'.

But it's hard to say how much of his improvisation was a lack of care/coaching, how much of it was just him at the time.

And Kotite was actually a good offensive coordinator, successful with both Cunningham and McMahon. That opening day injury in 1991 was a killer.
