In my next life I want to be a cat. Apparently that would mean I screwed up as a human, but it's hard to see it that way with facts like this.

I did have an orange tabby way back that we named Utley before I ever moved out of my parents house. He was pretty kickass but he got liver cancer and died in 2 years.

These aren't as badass as Norwegian mountain lion cats.

my apartment is right by the big Caribbean festival in NYC. the parade isn't until Monday and my apt is vibrating from all the bass.

I thought Ed had a cat named 6ABC for a second when I just read that.

what kind of shape were they in to start with? if not awful, HD has a heavy vibrating sheet sander, sorta like a mega palm sander. But if in tatters, you'll have to use the drum, and as you've noticed it's difficult. Can't pause to sneeze or you'll leave a gouge. I can still see the spots where I screwed up 16 years ago.

But after that, I recommend (after any stain you might use to add color) the water-based poly. Can be recoated in 24 hours. I did 6 coats on the first floor here and it still shines.

Before refinishing a floor, I recommend restarting.
