More people voted for House Democrats than Republicans in 2012. 'The American people' didn't necessarily vote for divided government, but that's what we got. it'll probably happen again in 2016.

I can't believe that there was such intense disagreement last night over whether HRC is an unliked candidate. She is. It's not a mater of debate.

A hypothetical strong Dem candidate (who doesn't exist btw because the Dem bench is nonexistent) would be outperforming her. She carries a ton of knee-jerk baggage with her that leaves normally rational people foaming at the mouth about her.

but that was my point; there is no Democrat out there. the bench is weak because of how many losses have taken place on the state level. this election is about Trump. the Republicans screwed up, not the Democrats. they had who they had and ran her because they are not allowed to continue to run Obama. perhaps Biden would be polling better now but he'd also probably be a worse president and has his own bugaboos that would come to the forefront if under a microscope.

there may have been better candidates who felt it wise not to run against a powerful political dynasty that the committee had already thrown their weight behind

it will be a decisive victory by electoral vote standard. not as bad as Mondale vs Reagan. crikes. the Dems were in bad shape back then. in baseball numbers it would be like a 4-1 win in a WS game.

outside of maybe Deval Patrick I guess I just don't see who. I like Elizabeth Warren but it seems pretty obvious she doesn't want to run for the office and it also appears she'd be just as divisive.

the US has officially re-settled 10,000 Syrian refugees, hitting its target a month early. Why so low? There were only 75,000 slots for refugees period. Congressional approval is needed for a more permanent increase, though they could do an executive 'emergency exception' temporarily.

I don't think there are any skeletons left in her closet.

Also, I'm looking forward to voting for Tim Kaine in 2024.

I'm sorry but absolving the democrats for any fault in their nominating the 2nd most unpopular presidential candidate in American history in a relative landslide is pretty lame.

Sometimes a party doesn't don't do a enough good job of cultivating good candidates. It's just that generally when that happens the party loses. There's a reason why parties generally don't win two straight 8 year terms.

It's just that this time the GOP lost its marbles so it probably won't cost the dems. At least in the short term. As Obama has said from time to time, the Democrats need a legitimate adversary to keep them honest and representing the interests of the American people as a whole. I'm worried about what will happen if we were to really become a system where republicans exclusively brandish their form of crazy at the state level and the dems brandish theirs at the national.

I talked to my political expert friend. He says you guys are right on levels one thru five. Wrong on level six and seven and right on eight and nine. Good job on many levels but not all of them.

Julián Castro would be the next page turn, right? First Latino-American to keep the party line flowing. His platform is that it is just amazing that he is alive, much less thriving. A true hole in the Trump narrative.
