That's all well and good, Az, and I'm not attempting to call you a rape apologist, but for me, your story comes down to: "I have friends that..., so I don't have to be careful about the language I use".

The counter to that, and it's not being "too PC" to say it, is: Yes - you do.

"I have a lot of black friends" doesn't mean you get to throw around the N-word. And I have slept with (been in a relationship with) women that have been victims of rape, doesn't excuse "rapey" terminology. I'm not trying to pile on - just tell you what specifically I found offensive. And I can only speak for myself.

The terminology is important. And that kind of terminology is why strippers, sex workers, etc. remain one of the largest targets of rapists and one of the most under-reported victims.

I just have trouble with the fact, that while we wait for an investigation, the "this is about money story" is almost immediately out there, "leaked" and "substantiated" by individuals that WERE NOT in the room. To say, "another dancer, who was with them most of the time" as some sort of alibi, is nonsense. It only takes moments to rape someone. Now, this woman has un uphill fight - and that's some bullshit, imo.

I enjoy your stories, I do. And you don't have to apologize for who you are. But, we can all learn something about how we speak about different subjects.

Wrt Agholor rape situation, having a strong position on either side at this point with the known facts is nuts. Imo based on what has been reported there is just as much likely hood he did it that he didn't. Honestly, I give the benefit of the doubt to the accuser most times, but in this case you have the accusers own coworkers being quoted as saying nothing happened, of course that doesn't prove nothing happened just as the accuser saying something did happen.

I'm gonna wait to see any kind of forensic evidence before I have an opinion, the accuser came forward immediately after the alleged attack, so it would stand to reason that there would be dna evidence and/or physical evidence of a struggle. It should be fairly easy to prove/disprove what happened.

I don't think az is wrong in his statements, strippers can be fucked up. Back when I was Nelson's age, my best friend met a stripper in a backroom at a club for a dance and her crazy ass Russian boyfriend walked in and demanded $500 to not kick his ass, I had to drive out there and pay his dumb ass out of that.
