As a random aside while I'm thinking about it - if you are a voter in the state of Pennsylvania, you need to be registered as a member of the party whose primary you wish to participate in, and the deadline for doing this is 30 days before the election, so end of next week.

On the GOP side, Pennsylvania allocates most of its delegates by congressional district through an arcane system of voting directly for delegates (who are technically unbound, but as it approaches one imagines you will be able to divine who supports which candidate). Congressional district allocation means if you live in the city proper or some of the immediate suburbs in PA-01, PA-02, or PA-13 you're going to be in a district with very few Republican votes, but the city districts get as many delegates as if you live in one of the more GOP suburban districts or the heavily GOP districts elsewhere in the state. In 2012 there were fewer than 20,000 votes cast in the GOP primary in Philadelphia County, and that's a huge chunk of three districts. By comparison Bucks, which is basically PA-08, was over 40,000 votes. I'm sure this time around both will be much higher, but it might be the biggest chance you'll ever have at casting a decisive vote in a national election. You can vote for Kasich (who found out he can stay on the ballot today) knowing you did your bit in defeating Trump and have the added benefit of still making me angry in the process.

And obviously if you want to vote Dem in the primary, you need to make sure you're registered as a Dem to do so as well.

Last time I did I went into a corner thinking ghosts were chasing me but I don't think it was just weed. Everything needs a new chance.
