But buy the 125 and sell what you don't need on craigslist

part of the basement rewiring. it's the line to the electric range. Dudes who put boiler line to the first floor miniduct air handler (I bought a radiant coil insert for it so I could use the a/c system as aux heat when necessary) ran the 3/4" line and left existing range wire sitting right on it. It' charring a bit (cloth jacket). Will it be an issue? Probably not. But it's really old wire anyway and it's tacked to the bottom of the joists, and I want to get everything into thru holes. It's got a J-box between the main basement and kitchen crawl space, and I replaced the portion going from that box to the outlet when I was putting in the radiant floor tubes in the kitchen, so I only have to run from the panel to the J-box now.

Yeah I'd definitely feel more comfortable replacing the cloth jacket with romex, didn't realize you were rewiring all the panel connections too. You gonna have an electrician look over the panel when you're done?

Nah. Don't wanna sound like THAT GUY but I'm confident in my abilities here. In fact, an inspection was required for my COO when I added the conservatory and new sub-panel. The inspector came out and questioned why I had the grounds all on the neutral bar on one side and the neutrals all on the other side. I had to point out to him that I had also removed the bonding bar between the two sides because that's what you have to do on sub-panels as per NEC. He was like "oh, yeah, I never knew that".

Would be the first time! I do admit that I take extra time working in the panel because of the exposed hot lugs.

Image

you see those two large silver screws in the circle? They're where the wire from the street attaches to (thru the meter box). So they're exposed metal and charged 120v each with a LOT of amperage- i.e. no fuse or breaker between them and the transformer out on the pole. So when you're feeding long wires through there (especially a bare ground wire) you've got to be very careful to control the wire and not let it (or your fingers) touch there or you can have a new hairstyle, along with a world of hurt

See, now here's where you're wrong. (Chris Knight quote)

Next to me at the bar tonight was this woman who just interviewed for a job with my employer and didn't get it. Bout as awkward as you would expect.
