“The introduction of Grilled Dogs just made sense to our guests and for our brand,” said Alex Macedo, president of Burger King’s North America brand, in a statement. “We’re applying over 60 years of flame-grilling expertise with the Whopper sandwich to make Grilled Dogs the next great American icon.”

I find the statement highly ironic given they did a tax inversion to Canada and are ultimately owned by a Brazilian private equity group.

Yes, I should have prefaced my email with that, as I did at the event itself when I was talking to a coworker. The guy doing the auction started it off by saying something like, "Welcome to the Zimbabwe auction where you will pay much more than you ever should for items that just aren't wroth what you're paying for them." People laughed and then payed for the Reeses. Someone also payed $350 to walk a teacher's dog for the afternoon. A dog date is worth at least that, but I had to laugh because usually people get paid to walk someone else's dog.

Anyway, I obviously believe in the cause or I wouldn't have given up a Saturday night to watch 10 kids until the dawn breaks.

Cool. Only been to the Fermenteria, which has a more extensive menu, and which I enjoyed. But the brew cafe looks like it it has plenty on hand to explore further drinking.

The brew cafe has kinda become the more experimental of the two spots. The Fermentaria is the more "standard" fair. A lot of IPAs/saisons usually.

Brew Cafe menu is IPA heavy right now. Or it was on Tuesday at least.

I don't get it. It takes about 4-5 minutes to get a good hot dog off the grill, and Berks and Kunzler are better than whatever the McCompanies are going to put out.

Reminds me of Dippity Do Dog.
