I don't see a Republican who beats Hillary so that probably gets you to 16
Even if you get run over by a clown car and pissed on by a busload of school children, it's still your responsibility to interpret the meaning of the event and choose a response

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Who is winning the debate so far (just last name)? #DemDebate

Curt Schilling ✔ @gehrig38

You don't think there will be a major temptation for Hillary to select a non-white running mate? Especially if we nominate Rubio?

If that's your point, sure, that temptation will be there, but Dems might find it equally necessary to come up with a white guy who is broadly acceptable. It'll be a tough call for them. Can Dems just completely walk away from the white male middle-to-lower class vote? I dunno.

Martin O'Malley isn't gonna save the white working class vote for the Dems. She could pick someone who speaks to that maybe - Sherrod Brown? I don't think O'Malley's zest for building a clean energy grid and gun control and going beyond Obama on immigration and whatever else he talked about tonight is the message the Democratic Party needs to rebuild its standing with working class white people.

Wonder if they promote from within or go on a national search when the new mayor is in?

Well Webb was right. Bernie's answer was fantasy land.

that Congress wouldn't approve the spending? Sure. But he thinks they'd work with him? That's stupid.

Right but Webb isn't a serious candidate. Bernie can say all of this stuff but until he actually explains how he's going to get any of it through congress it's kind of a waste of breath. He's saying stuff some people want to hear, which makes the other candidates look bad when they take more reasonable positions that actually have a chance of getting through congress. Which is kind of ironic coming from a guy who is supposed to be such a straight shooter.

He's said many times that he's relying on the American people to get active. If congressmen have constituents calling them and showing up at their offices demanding Bernie's changes, those congressmen are going to have to either work with him or risk getting voted out of office.

Right and the fact that his plan is relying on a massive shift in the make up of congress is just one sign that it's massively unrealistic.

Is voter involvement really a shift in the make up of congress? I don't think he's looking for these people to actually get voted out, just to have their constituents push for policies instead of lobbyists doing it.

I really enjoyed that debate.

I thought Clinton, Sanders, and O'Malley did very well. O'Malley's closing speech was amazing. I think that alone won him some votes.

Was watching this on a delay, if it wasn't obvious. Thought Hillary did well. Loved Bernie really. Webb was sort of amusing, when he wasn't bitching about how much time he was or wasn't getting - amusing in that he looks like he'd be a frightening drunk. Personal taste I suppose, but I don't find O'Malley to have any personal charisma.

Sanders helps to push the conversation in a more honest, substantive direction, for which I will be eternally grateful to him, but Hillary is the slam dunk nominee.
