Since tax cuts pay for themselves shouldn't he enact MORE tax cuts???

Just helping the move to privatized schools. See, the government can't afford to subsidize education any longer! My biggest political worry is the collapse of the DOE and the complete privatization of schools. With the decline of the middle class how many people will be able to afford education for their children?

when you don't want the government to work, it won't. pretty much sums it up.

http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20150 ... _Hall.html

Andrew Stober, chief of staff for the mayor's Office of Transportation and Utilities, said a mobile parking-payment system is overdue. But he asked the PPA to provide a more detailed analysis of how it would affect the School District. Last year the district received $9.7 million from the Parking Authority, money drawn from tickets, meter fees and parking permits, among other areas.

"At a time when we are struggling to make sure the schools have the resources that we need, we need to make sure that we're not digging ourselves deeper in a hole," Stober said.

Fenerty called that concern "preposterous."

"We give tickets because we want people to comply with parking regulations," he said. "Tickets are not there as a punitive measure. They're getting people to obey the parking ordinances, and that's what we're doing."

Not sure I get Ben Carson at all. He's established that he's fundamentally incapable of thinking through policy implications - incapable even of grasping their rudiments - yet he's concluded a career as a stellar neurosurgeon. Wouldn't a stellar neurosurgeon have more than enough lucrative demands on his clinical expertise that he would have zero need to be anything other than an esteemed conservative opinion leader, as far as having/needing something productive to do with himself on the public stage? Aside from embarrassing himself further, what is the extent of the 'extra' gain he gets from playing Herman Cain's more boring sibling this election cycle?

Yeah, I definitely want to hear more from him on policy but I am tempted to waste my vote on this guy. At some point, I may even consider volunteering some time to the cause. Either way, I am thankful that Hillary is going to have to work at least a little bit.

The thing about people who are smart is they think their experience and training and success in one area means that they can successfully transfer that ability to an entirely unrelated area. And there's at least one thing successful politicians and surgeons have in common--an overwhelming confidence, even arrogance.

Carson's declaration was pretty fun before he talked. A gospel choir did Lose Yourself and his wife did some violin.

I disagree with Fiorina economically and environmentally and with most of her other opinions but as least she's knowledgable and not in the clown car as far as I can tell. She did say she considers climate change a serious issue but basically plans to do nothing about it. That's pretty laughable. We have a huge problem! NEXT ISSUE!

Maybe I'm misreading but she was blamed for HP suffering after the Compaq merger but was then replaced by Tom Perkins (recently outed as a crazy guy who thinks we have parallels with Nazi Germany) who also supported the merger? There appeared to be a lot more wrong with HP than just Fiorina, too.

She also appears to have an LLC that does nothing as well as a ficticious foundation. Not sure what that's about.

She'll get 1%.

Understood - but wouldn't at least one friend pull him aside & say something like "Ben, love your selfless devotion to country & all but you're going to make an ass of yourself at length, over months, for no good reason"?

Perkins is of Kleiner Perkins - an investor, kind of a nut, but not ever an HP executive. Fiorina was actually replaced by a very capable executive, Mark Hurd*, who had begun cleaning up her titanic mess, but who had a wandering dick problem.

Fiorina has been a horrible executive, and is a horrible person. Mitt is a candidate for sainthood by comparison. She's in this for herself and herself only, as she always has been about everything.

*HP's CFO ran the place 4 6 weeks before Hurd was brought in
