The weird thing is that the person who has that bumper sticker on their car probably believes Obama created the mess he inherited. The blame lies with Reagan, Clinton, and the Bush family, but that won't stop them from blaming the one guy didn't do anything to create that mess.

he bailed out the banks and let everyone off scot-free, setting it up so the same thing will happen again in the not-too-distant future. he didn't have to do that

How many POTUS's do you have to go back before you find someone who wouldn't have done the exact same thing?

He didn't bail out the banks. They did go unprosecuted. A decent bill was then put into law to fix some key problems. It didn't go far enough but there are two parties.

I don't mean to excuse him, because I hated that too. I just don't think anyone who thinks otherwise has a shot at being POTUS.

right. even though you may feel that "too big to fail" shouldn't be a thing, it totally was and is. Now we've got to change that (but after I pay off my house since the customer who supplies my income is one of them 8-) )

Have to admit, the only person being consistent here is Obama but it seems unnecessarily secretive.

Why aren't the Republicans being consistent?

TPP is manna from heaven for everyone in Washington. Amazing how easily these bitter partisan foes, divided to their very cores on every issue under God, can set aside their differences for one shining, cosmically aligned moment of cooperative bliss JUST to piss on the nailed coffin of working/consumer class American citizens. Is Warren the only candidate vocally opposing it?

Bob Casey voted against it in committee. Harry Reid and Bernie Sanders (obviously) are publicly against it.

Sander Levin (backed by Pelosi) in the house put forth a competing bill. It's not necessarily a done deal as of yet, but it's close. What I don't get is why we need to fast track it? This very Congress just voted to have oversight on Obama's negotiations with Iran but wants to give over negotiations here.

Some of the ideas seem better than NAFTA or CAFTA but the 60 day public comment sure seems like a short amount of time for enough of this to be disseminated to the public and for there to be a coordinated, informed opposition. Right now the opposition, outside of the Congresspeople, are left in the dark because they can't dive into it.

It just seems like more Third Way bs until I'm shown otherwise.

He didn't do the best job cleaning up the mess, but he did clean up what he could given the situation. I don't think he did a perfect job, but I'm not sure how much you can do as an incoming president faced with a huge financial crisis and getting advised by the outgoing group about the conditions on the ground. The transition of power really does take a few months and he was faced with a huge crisis. Because of the conditions created by those who came before him, including Clinton, he could not let those banks fail, as unpalatable as it was to save them.

There are definitely some things he's done that I haven't liked, more than I thought there would be, but his response to that crisis was pretty good when you consider the situation. I would have liked to see him use the public sentiment and his popularity at the time to push through more reform, but then he probably wouldn't have gotten Obamacare passed.

Heluva day for Citizen Cruz:

Vows to cast a "no" vote on Lynch's nomination - but whoops, missed the actual vote (yea, yea, his "procedural vote's more important", bullshit - he's gotta get to a fundraiser, natch)

Senator Same-Sex Marriage Opponent Makes headlines for his appearance at a NYC reception to suck dick -er, seek contributions - from "2 prominent gay hoteliers", who have a colorful recent history with public authorities of a more local sort

oh, and his reputation as a master debater got dinged up a bit as well - mostly in a comment from someone who was a debate geek during the same period, who pointed out that Cruz dominated the "club teams" version of college debate competitions where style counted more than substance, rather than the big leagues
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

lets talk about this shot. his hands are clearly just off his fingers based on how far the ball is and how his fingers are spread, but his forearms are at a 130 degree angle, so it looks like he caught the ball and did a herky jerky catapult of the ball like the shot clock was running out.

I watched a video where he went like 2-22 and his form was pretty bad. I mean, he's a middle-aged guy who has slightly more important things to do than work on his jumper, but still. I bet Putin would have textbook form if he liked basketball.
