Not that I agree or disagree with Mr. Campos*, but he is not an employee or a publisher of the NY Times, which has merely posted Mr. Campos' opinion in the section of their publication labelled Sunday Review | Opinion, rather than 'agreeing' with him.

You see the difference, and so why what you said is presumably not what you meant to say.

Campos seems to be the harmless sort of entertaining/annoying crank so often found inhabiting Colorado.

Today's the day where Chicago votes. Rahm will have advertised his way into a second term. Great.

Hidden at the bottom ofa NY TIMES!!!! article on how the deal was done
The last tradeoffs were painful. When the Iranians insisted on keeping some centrifuges at Fordo, Mr. Obama approved the concession after Mr. Moniz assured him the facility, devoid of fissile material under the accord, would pose no threat. His credibility carried the day. And administration officials were struck by the fact that Iran was willing to waste 1,000 centrifuges, essentially spinning uselessly, to preserve national pride.
The same thing happened in finding a solution for the Arak heavy-water reactor, which they agreed to redesign. “Moniz said this will not produce any weapons-grade plutonium,” said a senior American official, and that if the Iranians cheated it would be detectable right away.

the appeaser in chief letting our evil enemy save face!

and yes, there's more to finalize. it's almost as if this is how it works.

lol, ok. at least we have you to constantly challenge every American administration and let us know what is and isn't the BS when it comes to the Middle East.

but we're doing the thing that worked? iraq did not have WMDs. We went to war anyway. It would appear the current administration is not going to go to war with a country but will let the IAEA go forward. Saddam 'thumbed his nose at us' because of national pride and appearances (as you stated previously he was 'irrational' in this respect)...so we are letting Iran keep up appearances and taking out the irrationality of national pride. This seems like a fairly sound strategy.

the reason I keep bringing up Iraq is the necon fantasy of creating deomcracy in the Middle East through war was an infantile fantasy that let loose a host of problems. Our drone strikes in Yemen have(edit) led to a host of problems (this under Obama, the president I lapdog to). Perhaps we could LEARN from these errors. It appears we are, at least with respect to Iran.

I think a nuclear deal made int he 7th year of someone's presidency is deserving of a high level of scrutiny and we should try to set aside go team go politics for a bit to talk about it. I don't care how much of the Bush evidence RE: WMDs jh went along with. It's irrelevant.

FWIW, I have (probably irrational hope) that as the current gen of Iranians take over they push the government away from totally fucking crazy to reasonably far right and we can start making some real progress.

gonna pop in and say that i'm pretty in favor of this Iran deal. we desperately need any sort of ally in that region. Iran gets to save face and say they got a legal nuclear program. we cut down their size so it looks like we're getting some stuff.

and lets be honest. if Iran wants to make a Nuclear bomb they're not going to do it in one of their existing factories.

Just so we're clear on how wildly inappropriate that was, I was a victim of (physical) child abuse and several members of my family were victims of sexual abuse as children. I get that you're upset but that's a bit much don't you think?
