Huge night for the Republicans. I guess people don't like prosperity, cheap gas, and a lower deficit.

On the plus side, we've got booze in Columbia County, AR.

Also, Tom Cotton is really, really creepy.

And I did a bit on Shreveport NPR and I was pretty hammered. I wonder how that will come out tomorrow morning.

Also, my friends in Delaware and Florida lost pretty badly.

all of the local stuff i cared about is going great. hard to be mad about losing the senate, i guess people like gridlock and bad healthcare systems.

oregon going legal makes me the most happy. hopefully we see a big wave in 2018. my congressman got reelected over a guy who promised to defend all of our freedoms, especially our right to bear arms, in his election guide write-up.

washington also is likely voting no on a marijuana tax increase that has a ton of stupid loopholes in it that restrict sales. we voted down a measure that prevents government agents from seizing our weapons and have overwhelmingly voted yes to background checks for all gun sales in which one person is a washington state resident.

the physicist turned "lawyer" that i voted for is predictably getting killed, though.

Texas turning blue is just around the corner. Bahaha.

My favorite part of election night coverage on MSNBC is watching delirious Chris Matthews making a fool of himself at 2 in the morning. He's been especially entertaining tonight. He looks ragged.

Stuart Rothenberg ‏@StuPolitics
Was 2014 worse for Democrats than 2010 (when they lost 63 House seats)? The answer seems to be "yes."

Sullivan in Alaska looks like a clear win though no one in national media has called it. Maybe everyone has gone to bed. Eight pickups with no losses and a ninth looking likely a month from now. Goddamn what a cycle the NRSC had.

Looks like it will be 53-44-2 with LA outstanding. Obviously Bernie will continue caucusing with the Dems, but Angus King has apparently been making noises about switching teams. I'm not sure how much that'd be worth to the GOP because he could always flip back, and on tough votes he'd be one of the first we'd lose. Hopefully they don't give up anything too great to get him, but if he wants to chair some specific subcommittee or something, he's welcome aboard. I think the real potential prize is trying to turn Manchin. His state has gone completely red at the federal level other than him, and he doesn't seem to much care for the president. No real upside for him to stay a Democrat, and flipping would guarantee him the seat for life and would let him stay in the majority.

The manner in which they lost NC was unexpected, but nothing compared to some of the gubernatorial races they managed to lose

Really don't understand how you like him. Dude is awful. Now he will try to run for president and be completely exposed.

Anyone who can take on the public sector unions and win a tough state like Wisconsin three times, and get Ed Schultz sputtering like that earns a great deal of love from me.

What does this even mean?

That democracy is stupid if some shit head can just jump from state to state until he gets elected.

That's not a HE (I think).

Hopefully the Senate and House Dem caucuses stick with their current leadership because the American voter loves Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Biggest GOP House majority since before the Great Depression - keep on being you, Nancy!

Losing nine Senate seats after being a major issue in a number of the swing races - the Democrats need your leadership, Harry!

over the counter birth control is not kryptonite to the people using it, which is every woman.
