That means you're talking late 80s really, so day glo and leg warmers and even Members Only jackets are out. Acid wash jeans, Miami Vice, jeans with an oversized blazer (preferably with the sleeves pushed up). Also, the banded collar I think was a thing. I just got rid of mine.
