I remember back when I was single, there was this girl I worked with who asked me if I wanted to hang out. I agreed and picked her up at her apt. Before we went out, I used her bathroom. You'd think commercial planes would have GPS transponders

they do. someone here (I think) turned me on to flightradarpro. They went through their logs and found the place where the transponder last...um, transponded. over the ocean.

well as long as there haven't been any waves, currents or tides in the ocean lately we should be okay

looks like it was in fact here, and TV in particular, who brought up flightradar24. Pretty cool. Apps for all the major platforms along with the website. Identifies that plane going overhead. Well, the yellow ones are realtime- the orange ones are five-minute delays. Not sure if it's a coverage or an aircraft difference.

It went down where radar isn't covering it. They don't know how high, how fast, and what heading it was going when it crashed or whatever. Makes it pretty impossible to find.

Saw on the news this morning that Vietnamese military radar had some induction that it was turning around right before they lost contact. This is some weird ish. Feel terrible for the families that presumably lost loved ones. This is probably going to take years to figure out what happened, if they are able to at all.

why don't they make the whole thing out of the black box
