I'm sorry for your loss Soren.
Back in November my uncle had a massive stroke and died at 49, left behind a wife and 5 kids (ages between 8-23). It is amazing the hole that losing someone so young leaves in everyone's life. It can also bring out the best in people too, it has helped us to think of it that way and be more involved in each others lives and made us closer as a family. It's not the same as him being there, but having that closer family bond as a result has been an amazing thing. Hope your family can find peace in the tragedy.

I didnt used to give anything directly to my cousins. My parents would give for the family. But now that I'm financially independent from my parents and living on my own, it's reaching a gray area with my younger cousins where I'm starting to give money for these sorts of things.

Same boat here. But I only have ten cousins total on both sides. I don't really do bdays or xmas but I'll do graduation gifts as most of them or high school/college age now.
