Are live tapings any fun? Went to Conan once. It was decent. Feel like everything else would suck. Jerry Springer taping may be alright. What's he up to?

Jerry Springer bounced a check at a rub and tug in 1971. Surprised they took checks for shit like that.

I wanted to go into TV production as a career back in the day, I've been to and involved in a lot of recordings of shows, I directed a series of educational programs on public speaking for PBS when I was in high school. So my view may be a little biased, but I think its awesome. I mean, you have to understand that it isn't going to be thrill a minute, but being there for the experience is almost always interesting. What you see as a final product is often different than what you see at the taping. You get to see scenes that get cut for time, how things get reworked in editing, cast/crew screw ups. It really depends on what your expectation is going in. Personally, I love it, but I can see how it could be tedious if you aren't into the literal behind the scenes stuff.

I was at a Montell Williams show taping that just went completely off the rails, the episode never aired, but the guests were just a mess, they came in with some crazy cheating story, but got caught making it up, and then some real shit came out where the teenage daughter who was there to denounce her mom's cheating ways got for real pissed about something and told her mom that she'd shed been sleeping with someone, I can't remember who it was, like the neighbor or something, and then the mom had a breakdown and the guy who the mom was supposedly cheating with totally broke and was like I'm outta here. It was pretty awesome.

Once went to a live taping of Showtime at the Apollo. It was interesting, but it's not really a chronological live taping. We saw a bunch of promos that clearly weren't going to be aired in order, and an intro for an act that would be recorded at a later date.

Only one I've been to was Colbert, and that was definitely worthwhile. Helps that he's a really nice guy.

I like that rule about not personally attacking other members. That's a good rule.
