All's well with the new place except .... we heard these faint but frequent shrieking sounds through the living room wall all weekend. Wasn't sure what it was, but I'm glad I didn't go to inquire/complain, as it turns out the neighbor's son has a form of Tourrettes.

Our landlord, who lived in the place until we did, says he only heard it "on occasion" and that he thinks the family is moving soon, but he could just be saying that to keep us from being tempted to bail. Or maybe the kid just had a rough weekend. But in the meantime, it's driving my 35-week-pregnant wife nuts.

And we feel terrible for getting mad about it
