good stuff right there

in other web news, I sure hate the design of thedissolve.com, which it seems like they put a lot of time into creating. curious if other people (who read pop culture detritus in between working all day) like it?

Nope. It's less noisy than a lot of other sites, which I appreciate, but harder to actually navigate

lots of design for the sake of design
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

The only way I'd probably end up on that site is if Google had already found the page I wanted.

Hardly anyone has good web design. And most stuff on most of these sites isn't worth reading. Did all this stuff used to make it into magazines in the old days? I mean, I like Buckaroo Banzai as much as anyone, but do I want to read an article detailing how hip I am because I'm part of the Buckaroo Banzai cult or something?

Movies: Rotten Tomatoes
Music: Spotify's pitchfork ap.

Maybe metacritic in a pinch.

Not panning it, it's just not my slice of nerdom. I was moreso saying my opinion wouldn't matter much but I still wanted to weigh in since I took the time to actually look at the site.

I like to read bad reviews of movies I saw and didn't like. Recently started listening to the How Did This Get Made podcast which is pretty much just Andre and Rafi from The League ripping apart bad/weird movies. I cracked up a few times on the most recent one on Toys (Robin Williams/Joan Cusack).

Grading papers. I just failed three kids in a row, then stumbled across this gem in what is supposed to be a straight summary of a Supreme Court opinion: "It is the root of our bill of rights and the basis of our country that citizens have the right to do or not do whatever they please." Excuse me? Have you heard of laws?

Think it might be quitting time for the night.

I got one today where the student said something pretty close to "everything I believe is true."
