If i want to sell a couple laptops on ebay do i basically have to remove the hard drive so i don't have to worry about someone stealing info?

There's a Linux utility called shred that does a good job of wiping everything from a hard drive. You can boot the laptops from a Knoppix live CD and run the utility. Here's a guide: http://www.ehow.com/how_6246449_use-knoppix-wipe-hard-drive.html
