Sometimes people are just crazy with it. Other times, shit just happens. I had close to 10K in debt that I just recently paid off. For years I always paid everything off in full every month, so credit cards were never a problem. But after a while (and a paycut thanks obama) I just wasn't making enough money for everyday living. Then my hours at work were cut, rent goes up, car trouble, school, etc. Then I was unemployed and using it for just about everything while struggling just to pay rent. The interest on top of that....it can happen quick. Now that I have it paid off, I haven't touched it. I know the rewards are enticing, but I really don't think it's worth it. I honestly don't think most people realize all the stuff they buy on a CC that they wouldn't with cash. I'm not even talking about big, crazy purchases, but little things here and there that just add up to a waste. I know I didn't realize it until I stopped using it. I find that now I avoid buying stuff I don't really need (or even really want) when I know it's coming directly out of my account.
