Made the final table, finished 8th and won 2700 bucks. Lost with QJ against AJ. Pretty good performance overall.

There are many things in life that hack me off, and high on that list is people assuming that online box offices must offer instant gratification and work properly in the face of massive demand for a large number of one-off events each with a small number of tickets (never any more than about 600, and sometimes as few as 10 an event).
I mean, I had to spend nearly 3 hours this morning getting on the website, same as anyone else, but I just kept hitting refresh, and eventually got logged in and got my tix. And I never fucking grumbled know-nothing SHITE about 'NEED MORE SERVERS', 'THEY REALLY SHOULD BE PROPERLY PREPARED' , or my favorite 'THE WEBSITE'S CRASHED'. That last one's a fucking gem. What does it even mean? the box office system behind the website hasn't gone down. there's just fuck loads of people trying to access the same site at the same time. And the exact number of fuck loads this year is hard to predict, to put it mildly. This year, apparently, it was 300,000 in the first hour, so almost 5 times what it had been last year.
